Richland Chambers Hardware and Lumber Store first opened its doors back in the ’90s.  John and Kay took over in March 2019 and are the fourth set of owners.  Prior to owning the store, John and Kay lived and worked in Dallas and had a weekend house at the lake.  Both worked in Corporate America and always dreamed of owning their own business and living in the country.  John planted the bug in the previous owner’s ear, Les York, about buying the store as he always dreamed of owning a hardware store.  Months went by and he figured the timing just wasn’t right to sell.  Then one day, Les caught John in the parking lot and said “Are you still interested in buying the store?”  The rest is history.
